Rejoice! Praise Team
The mission of the Rejoice! Praise Team members is to serve the congregation of Dundee Presbyterian Church by volunteering their worshipful spirits, talents and time to provide contemporary music for our 9 am Worship Service. Musical selections include songs heard frequently on contemporary Christian radio, new songs, as well as well-known hymns in a more contemporary style.
Members come from diverse backgrounds, but gather together regularly mid-week and Sunday mornings for practice and camaraderie in what has become a family of caring believers in Jesus Christ. While they strive to bring God their best, offering themselves musically, their goal is to worship as individuals who truly rejoice in their belief of God the Father, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Ministering to other Disciples of Christ and those who might become believers is an added joy. They pray that you might enjoy worship and fellowship with them, whether as a member of the congregation, the band, or as a support person such as the AV team.
Rejoice and give praise to the Lord!
Chancel Choir
The Dundee Presbyterian Chancel Choir sings at the 11am service almost every Sunday of the year. We rehearse Thursday evenings 7:00 – 8:30PM from September – May. During the summer we rehearse our anthems on Sunday mornings only. Additionally, we present a major musical work for special music services in Advent and Lent by enhancing the choir with an orchestra or additional instruments. We believe that each choir member has been called and gifted by God for the great work of our music ministry. Through our love and joy of music and singing we give of our time and talent to minister God’s grace through music. Our music offerings are dedicated to the glory of God and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We show our love of Christ through our collective musical efforts along with individually loving, supporting, and caring for each member of the choir. We approach our singing from the chancel as worshipers of Christ and helping others worship through music. Please contact Paul Koenig, Minister of Music, if you would like to join this special group – 558-2330. We only ask that you have a love of singing for the Lord! The following quote attributed to Martin Luther sums up what we believe: “Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.” We enjoy both of these treasures by proclaiming the Word of God through music. (Colossians 3:16) “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord”
Bell Choir
The “Dundee Ringers” is the adult bell choir. The group has 12 members from very diverse backgrounds and meets weekly during the months of September – May. We play for worship on a monthly basis. The group may also play for special services at other times of the year, for example, Thanksgiving, Advent/Christmas, and Lent/Easter. The bell choir plays on a 5-octave set of Schulmerich hand bells and a 3-octave set of Suzuki hand chimes. We play a variety of music to enhance the congregation’s worship experience. If you are interested in joining this group, please contact Lisa Lever or Paul Koenig at 558-2330.
