Loving and caring for others are what describes me best. From a very young age, I aspired to be a nurse as I took the lead in my family as the oldest of six children and cared for elderly relatives during my teen years.
Growing up in Omaha, I graduated from UNMC College of Nursing in 1982. It was also the same year I moved to Austin, Texas with my husband, Dennis, who was serving our country in the US Air Force. We have two children, Andrea and Eric, who are currently pursuing medical and law degrees.
Returning to Omaha in 1994, we prayed to find a church that extended its loving arms with warmth especially for our own children. Dundee was the place that laid the foundation blocks of their relationship with Christ.
It was through the kids I became heavily involved in youth ministry from being table parents to high school youth leader, confirmation leader and mentor, serving as a Deacon deepened my desire to meet the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of others both within and outside our church walls. I felt called to serve others through an opportunity in Faith Community Nursing. My career has allowed me the opportunity to practice nursing in long-term care, orthopedics, home health care, hospice, mental health, and administration. My passion is helping others recognize that their spiritual health is at the core of one’s well-being offering a sense of hope being aware that healing can happen without care.
