“Blessings, Dundee Church, this is Suzie.” That’s my greeting when you call Dundee Church . . . and that is the essence of the hospitality I share with others. Members and staff have become friends through the past 27 years. Having been born in Omaha, growing up in Carter Lake and graduating from Thomas Jefferson in Council Bluffs, this area is home. My husband Jerry and I were high school sweethearts and have three children with ten grandchildren, who are the light of my life. God has become more real in my life through difficult times – the death of a daughter and serious health issues for Jerry. It is then that I have to rely on God to sustain me and am grateful for God’s gift of Jesus Christ who grounds me and gives me hope. And being here at Dundee brings me joy and gives me strength for my journey. I love being in ministry with the Dundee staff and ministry teams, including the dedicated office volunteers, session members and Deacons. My favorite time is spent with family and friends – vacationing in the mountains or by the sea, watching baseball, cheering on the grandchildren, playing games and handbells, cooking – or alone with a good book or knitting while listening to Chris Tomlin, Alan Jackson or Yo-Yo Ma. Each day brings an opportunity and challenge to share God’s love with others.
